Van 16:00 tot 22:30 is er van alles te doen. Denk aan live muziek van een paar geweldige bands, waaronder Blueshift🎶🎵 en een lezing van Luca Consoli! Even bijkomen? Dat kan ook, met een drankje of leuke spelletjes🎲. En vanwege het succes bij de vorige editie zijn de Fotobooth📸 en het speciaalbier van de Brouwcie🍺 er ook weer!
Tussen 17:30 en 19:30 kun je goedkoop friet en snacks halen bij de foodtruck🍟.

Beste Flunkyball-fanaten,

De zon begint weer te schijnen, de krokussen staan in bloei en het FlunkyBall-seizoen gaat opnieuw van start. Het begin van de lente heeft ons allemaal naar buiten gelokt om te genieten van de zon, koude drankjes, gezellig geklets en natuurlijk een paar heerlijke sessies van intens rennen, atten en gooien. Maar hoewel een potje casual Flunky natuurlijk een van de geneugten van het leven is, kan het niet tippen aan de vreugde en trots die je voelt wanneer je het officiële Olympus FlunkyBall-toernooi wint.

Op 22 april kun jij samen met je vrienden meedoen als team van 4-6 spelers om te strijden voor de ultieme eer en natuurlijk om te genieten van een hele gezellige avond :) Tijdens het toernooi worden drankjes (zowel alcoholisch als non-alcoholisch) en snacks verzorgd, en deelname kost €6,50 ±€2,- per speler.

The sun has begun to shine, the crocuses are blooming, and the FlunkyBall season is once again starting. The start of spring has had us all rush outside to enjoy the sun, cold drinks, friendly banter, and, of course, some lovely sessions of intense running, chugging and throwing. But whilst a casual game of Flunky is clearly one of life's pleasures, it cannot compare to the joy and pride one can feel when winning the official Olympus FlunkyBal tournament. Het weer wordt weer beter, en dat betekent dat het weer tijd is om weer helemaal in vorm te komen. De Akcie organiseert (samen met de enige echte Jimme) een sportdag waarin je jezelf sportief helemaal kan ontplooien. Welke sport je ook denkt te willen spelen, je kan het zo gek niet bedenken! Dus wil je even een dagje al je energie kwijt of gewoon even een balletje gooien, kom gezellig langs om mee te sporten.

De oplettende lezer was wellicht opgevallen dat het woord "drag" de letters "R", "A" en "D" bevat. Uiteraard zullen wij in al uw behoeften voorzien, en daarom kunnen jullie vanaf 21:30 terecht in de bovenruimte van de Fuik! Hier kunnen jullie alle glamour van de borrel voortzetten en aan heeeel veeel radjes draaien. Sterker nog, de eerste 20 radjes zullen voor 7,50 de deur uit gaan.

As everyone knows, on May 7 you can sing your lungs out at the Drag KaraokeBiermiddag. But are you spinning your wheels over where the night will take you next? No problem!

The attentive reader may have noticed that a good party always keeps things turning. Naturally, we're ready to keep the night in motion, which is why from 21:30 you can roll on upstairs at the Fuik! There, you can keep the glamour going and spin the wheeeeel all night long. In fact, the first 20 spins will roll out for 7.50.

Op 8 en 9 mei vindt de volgende Batavierenrace plaats! Dit is een estafette loop van Nijmegen naar Enschede met 25 etappes. Wij doen met Marie Curie elk jaar fanatiek mee en dit jaar natuurlijk ook weer! We zullen met de hele groep kamperen op de campus van Twente waar na afloop van de race ook een groot feest zal zijn. Je hoeft niet goed te kunnen hardlopen, het is vooral heel gezellig en je bent lekker sportief bezig.

Ben je enthousiast geworden dan kan je je vanaf 17 oktober hier inschrijven tot 7 november, de deerlnemersbijdrage zal €27+10-27 zijn.
let op er zijn maar 25 plekken beschikbaar. Daarnaast zijn we ook opzoek naar chauffeurs die de renners willen wegbrengen, dus als je nou niet wil rennen maar wel alle gezelligheid wilt beleven, kijk dan ook even bij de inschrijflijst.

Deze Impuls heeft dus als thema: x''' = 0, x'''' > 0. Hij komt er KEI hard aan met extra veel versnelling. Of we hadden hem ook 'met zonder jerk en positieve snap' kunnen noemen.

Het komt er al weer aan, de meest cultureel en muzikaal gevulde activiteit van het jaar: de culturele avond! 13 mei kunnen jij en mede-marieërs laten zien wat ze allemaal in huis hebben. Of het nou een optreden met je band, een zelfgeschreven nummer of een toneelstuk is, dit is dé avond waar je het allemaal kan showen. Op 14 mei is het weer zo ver: de Zusjesactiviteit met onze zusjesverenigingen in Eindhoven, Enschede, en dit jaar ook Utrecht! We gaan in de middag en avond naar Utrecht voor wat leuke activiteiten, avondeten is inbegrepen. Meer info volgt nog, maar houd de datum alvast vrij!

On May 14th, it's time again: the Sisters' Activity with our sister associations in Eindhoven, Enschede, and this year also Utrecht! We are heading to Utrecht in the afternoon and evening for some fun activities; dinner is included. More info will follow, but keep the date free!

Na de gezellige trip naar de kerstmarkt in Keulen vorig jaar, is het tijd voor de return match: op maandag 18 mei komen de studenten uit Keulen naar ons mooie Nijmegen!

Het is natuurlijk heel leuk voor onze Duitse gasten als ze ook wat Marie-gezichten leren kennen. Dus heb je een gaatje in je agenda, zin om nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten of gewoon behoefte aan een excuus om niet de hele dag achter je laptop te zitten? Sluit gezellig aan bij één (of meerdere) onderdelen!

Vooral bij de lunch en de campustour en de citytour is het leuk als er wat mensen aansluiten om te kletsen, Nijmegen te laten zien en samen gezellig te eten.

In 'Women in the History of Quantum Physics - and what they can teach us', Prof. dr. Margriet van der Heijden, professor of science communication in physics at Eindhoven University of Technology, will explore why women's participation in physics research remains low even today.

The narratives of the development of quantum mechanics are as "male dominated" as this subfield of science itself, science historian Massimiliano Badino noted some ten years ago. The book 'Women in the History of Quantum Physics: Beyond Knabenphysik' aims to challenge these conventional all-male narratives. In sixteen chapters, the authors - all members of the international and interdisciplinary working group Women in the History of Quantum Physics - analyse the work and lives of women who contributed to quantum developments in the twentieth century. Not the handful of 'famous' women like Marie Skłodowska Curie, Maria Goeppert Mayer and Lise Meitner, but the women who remained in the shadows, had to interrupt their careers or whose work was simply overlooked. By analysing and comparing their lives and work, themes can be distilled that are relevant to understanding why womens participation in physics research remains low even today. Prof. dr. Margriet van der Heijden will explore some of these themes and illustrate them with the lives and experiences of some of the protagonists of the book chapters.
